Welcome to CVH Consulting! Thank you for taking the time to be here and to learn more about me and my services. In short, I’m Christie, and I believe that creative training interventions and effective facilitation skills have the power to change people’s lives! 

 “Why you, Christie?” Great question. 

I’ve been in front of crowds from a young age, I think my first “public presentation” as a young 4-Her was when I was 8-years-old. I got a blue ribbon (yeah!) for teaching all who would listen on how to make a fruit basket. I’m 99% sure I didn’t know how to make a fruit basket when I chose this as my topic. I’m sure my mom or grandmother acted as my subject matter expert. Was I an instructional designer from a young age? I’d like to think so. Naturally, at this age, I was petrified to speak in front of an audience with my fake fruit. But looking back on it, I learned some valuable lessons: 

1.    Public speaking isn’t so bad, once you learn how to engage your audience! It will give you confidence. 

2.    Learning can, and should, be fun — even if the topic isn’t.

3.    Listen to the experts. 

Since my early years as a fruit basket connoisseur, I’m proud to say, I’ve elevated my skills. I have spent time in rural Africa conducting needs assessments. I’ve created training manuals and facilitated train-the-trainers for national health care organizations. And I’ve become an expert at listening to the needs of whoever I’m working with to provide the best possible interventions. Not to mention, I love creating custom learning solutions, from implementation to evaluation. It excites me. 

All too often people view training, professional development, and even retreats as tedious, a waste of time, or boring. I bet many of you are nodding your heads in agreement. This doesn’t have to be the case. Training shouldn’t be dreaded. Retreats should be productive. Your audience can be more engaged. I work hard, I have the skills necessary to help you grow, and I love what I do. I find so much joy in seeing people become the best versions of themselves.
