Christie VanHorne, M.Ed, MPH

President & Founder

Christie is a dynamic and experienced public health consultant with two decades of experience. As the founder and president of CVH Consulting, LLC, Christie is dedicated to creating engaging and effective health education and training experiences. With a deep understanding of instructional design principles and a commitment to improving public health outcomes, Christie has become a valuable asset in the field. Her clients will tell you she is uniquely capable of quickly understanding the populations she serves and your organization's needs. From her first foray as a health educator in rural South Africa with the Peace Corps, Christie has developed and delivered hundreds of workshops, seminars, and training sessions, engaging diverse audiences and fostering a deeper understanding of public health issues.

Christie is an adjunct professor at Vassar College, where she teaches courses on current issues in public health, women’s health, and the history of public health. She brings a wealth of knowledge and real-world experience to the classroom and inspires students to excel and thrive academically. Christie also teaches medical, nursing, and physician assistant students as an AHEC Scholars program faculty member.

In 2023, Christie was presented with the prestigious ATHENA Award, an internationally recognized honor that recognizes women who demonstrate excellence in their profession, community service, and mentorship of future leaders. She has worked tirelessly to advance gender equity in health on multiple fronts in professional positions and as an advocate on the frontlines. Christie is the National Women’s Health Network’s Board of Directors vice-chair. In 2021, she was the co-host of FLOW, a monthly show for menstruating individuals who experience extreme bleeding. She has volunteered for her local United Way as a member of the Community Impact Council, on an Institutional Biosafety Committee at Vassar College, and for countless reproductive health and justice efforts.

Christie is pursuing her Doctor of Public Health degree in Equity, Leadership, and Advocacy at Tulane University.

When she is not working or studying, Christie loves to travel, scuba dive, and read anything related to social justice or public health. She is a proud dog mom and lives with her beloved pups and husband in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley.
